My father, a British Colonial -thus being more British than the bleedin'
British themselves, took me to task for my teenage infatuation with a certain
rather crude, vulgar American habit (of some) to over-indulge in profanity.
He told me: - A real Gentleman, even he is a bit of a scoundrel or rogue,
knows that profane language is most effective when not used but on rare
occasions of moral outrage... or extreme moments of duress or torture.
