I assume you meant commands. In that case I can't see
any reason why i shouldn't use imparative forms in
talking to God. People in the Bible did it all the
time. David's Psalms, most of which are prayers to
God are full of imparatives -- Arise, O Lord! Save
me, O my God! John used imperatives addressed to God
-- Even so, Lord, come quickly! Even the Lord's
Prayer uese imeratives addressed to God -- Give us
this day our daily bread -- and this is Jesus example
to us of how we "ought" to pray. anyone who says we
shouldn't use imperative in addressing God, if they
claim to be a Christian or a Jew, has NO scriptural
foundation for such a claim. I have no idea how other
religions believe their adherants should address their
gods, but in the Jewish and Christian traditions
imeratives are more than acceptable, they would seem
to be laudable.
