Dzu''Fa''Ri Sudtub! Happy Rokbeigalmki New Year!

hey everyone,

tomorrow at sunrise will begin the first day of the Rokbeigalmki Year
6Ao''Le''Ro. Rokbeigalmki years are numbered with the abbreviation for
|nga'aole-ad-a tza'lesna-a rokbeigalmki-a| "from the creation of the
Rokbeigalmki language", which occured in the year 0. (1996-1997).

Of course, in Tolkien's World, where the Rokbeigalm live, they have a
different year-numbering system, but since there's no temporal continuity
between their world and ours, we have to have our own year-numbering
system over here.

The Rokbeigalmki New Year Holiday is called
|^dzuwaurg^fal^ri.hlao^semoz-a| or Dzu''Fa''Ri for short. It means "the
Festival of the Widening of the Circle of the Sun", the day after the
southern hemisphere winter solstice, when the days once again start to
become longer.

I'm not sure exactly how the Rokbeigalm celebrate Dzu''Fa''Ri, but of
course it involves the Five Life Elements - dwi (water), aurez (wood),
zek (fire), reiyug (blood), and amal (earth). It also involves lots of
partying on the beach with bonfires and good food, and lots of people
stay up the night before (tonight) in order to watch the sunrise.

Dzu''Fa''Ri (|sudkhada-a tza'mefsat-a ghalúb|, the first [day] of the
month Ghalúb) is also the birthday of Stíígiyus (Stygius) Nededh-Yagh, my
prototypical Rokbeigalmkidh and my main character on ElendorMUSH, the
online Tolkien-themed RPG.
