Perish the thought! The representation within the calculations and
the displayed representation can be totally different.
I'm using Calendrica, from the book _Calendrical_Calculations_, as my
model. Everything's a list of numbers internally, but the applet
converts them to the people-oriented form. For instance, in the
French Republican calendar the internal representation of today's date
is the list (216, 8, 30), but the web page displays that as "Décade
III, Decadi de Floreal d l'Année 216 de la Revolution".
