Not at all. The relay will be started on September 5th; all those who would
like to participate will have a fair chance to find out about it, to return
from their vacatations, to make up their minds, to finish their language, etc.
All you need to do is one of the following two things:
Either send a private e-mail to the relay master, Bob Greenwade
(bob.greenwade@newmail.net) and he will tell you what to do. Or subscribe to
the Relay List (http://www.valdyas.org/mailman/listinfo/relay) and send a
message answering the following questions:
"
Name: [I'll have your email address from the From: header]
Language:
Language URL (if any):
Preferred received language (if any):
Preferred Group [see below]:
The "Groups" will be as follows:
One: people who really don't want to deal with mutated text. There
will probably be some minor mutations here, but nothing significant.
Two: people whose languages have one or more unusual features,
particularly odd ways of expressing some simple concept that we take for
granted.
Three: people whose languages spring from fictional cultures that
regard some aspect of life or the universe in some unusual manner.
Four: people who think they'd enjoy working with a text that has
seriously mutated from its original meaning.
"
Personally, I would suggest you the latter option, i.e. join the Relay list and
send a message on-list.
