My (Windows) computer shows most of the characters fine, except in the
text where it describes the shift from velar to uvular in I-ra-n~. (what
about in Iraq? ;-) )
There, the |eng|, |small-caps N|, |chi|, |phi|, |schwa|, and |barred-i|
come out as boxes, as does the combining tilde. But i think it's just
due to the font you're using there, because in the charts (that look like
they use a different font) everything comes out fine for me.
