Here I'm using IE6, and at home I've got Mozilla 1.4. The page displays in
a small and very blockily rendered font, with several of the characters
appearing as boxes. A closer look at the page reveals that the w-tilde
does actually appear as it should, although with a very small and
off-center tilde. Steg's list of improper characters matches mine,
although the problem hasn't been fixed with whatever updates you mentioned
a little while ago.
