Does that mean "five quarters"? (It certainly looks like it should!) In Swedish, a time period of 45 minutes is commonly refered to as _tre kvart_, lit "three quarter". My 'lect also has _fem kvart_ (_fem_ "five") for one of 75 minutes, but I've had to learn to use it with some thought, since from too many people it simply occasions blank stares. One could have thought it the meaning would be obvious to anyone familiar with the _tre kvart_ expression, but it's clearly not. You can also say _tre kvarts X_ "three quarters of (an) X". Andreas
