Also, I don't quite understand why you want your correspondent to use
specifically the same font. Using the same encoding standard should be
enough. That is, I don't think that what is announced as a KOI-8 font
can contain any misplaced char images (not for standard Russian letters,
at any rate).
KOI-8 is a long established standard and should be correctly interpreted
by virtually all Russified communication software.
