"I remember once that I entered at the US and I have to fill a card. There
was no _Latino_ box and the closer was _Chicano_... of course I'm not
Chicano but I could find a relationship with the word _Latino_, not as a
race but as a culture (which is a very broad culture, I should say)."
One more thing. In the US, if you are not from a Native community but you
are from South of the Border, you are Latino. So forms here that mark race
usually say:
African American (not Latino)
because Spanish speakers who are black are still Latino!
Weird, yes? All the other categories mark race, but Hispanic/Latino/Chicano
marks native language! Hello! What's that all about, anyway?
