Here I've to recommend yet again my good friend, the Delete Button. It
doesn't hurt anyone, it relieves your pain, and here's a secret: nobody
will even know you deleted their message! ;-)
I suppose this is just because I am currently subscribed to several
mailing lists, a handful of which generates >100 messages per day easily.
The only way I've ever kept up is to be very good friends with my pal, the
Delete Button. (It helps to use a threaded mail program where you can
whack an entire uninteresting thread with one button.) It's a shame that
most of us don't have the time/energy to wade through every single
incoming mail; but we live in the age of Information Overload. There is no
choice but to rely on people using the right subject lines so that we can
weed out uninteresting (or less important) stuff very quickly.
