And AFMCL... ;-)
Especially since Quenya was mentioned before, i think i'll mention that
Rokbeigalmki has a word for "sapient being", and it's |kwened|, borrowed
from Proto-Elvish |kwene| (person, 'user of articulate speech') with
either possible confusion with P-E |kwende| (elf) or the addition of |-d|
by analogy with |mald| (human)... Eventually, |-d| becomes Rokbeigalmki's
'sapient species' marker:
KWENED = sapient being (in general, regardless of species)
MALD = human
KFEND / PWEND = elf
URKUD = orc
BEIJAMBAD = beijabar (human/bear shapechanger, like Beorn)
KOOZD = dwarf
In Rokbeigalmki language-ideology, the |-d| at the end of these words is
associated with the |-dh| agentive noun ending.
So where did the Quenya |mirroanwi| come from? Did |*kwene| and
|*kwende| merge, so they needed a new word?
