Similarly, the Irish for 'butterfly' is 'féileacán' and 'moth' is 'féileacán oíche' (butterfly night-GEN). The word 'leamhan' is also used for 'moth'. The topic of insects hasn't entered the vocabulary of any of my conlangs yet, so I can't comment there. K.
