Gender, for me, carries more significance than does sex.

I see sex as my biological in heritance - do I have two X or one X and one Y
chromosome (plus the rare indiviuals with an extra X or Y). I have an X and
a Y.

I see gender as part (not all) of what I am in a society. "Gender" is also
an easier question for transgendered persons (f-to-m, m-to-f) and
hermaphrodites to answer.
