That'd be just [sut] or [sjut] here. No longer than that vowel
sound is in any other word, and shorter than it is in e.g. "soon".

CB> I would prefer asju:m over aSu:m,

I have never even heard an [S] in <assume>. It's always either an [sj]
or aplain [s]. And as with most of the [ju]/[u] distinctions, the former
sounds somewhat snotty/affected to me.

CB> presume I would tend to say as prezu:m

Yup.

CB> unless I was trying to sound very formal in which case it
CB> becomes preZju:m

Again, never heard the [Z]. [z] or [zj].

TM> English vs Australian, I'd ashoom.

Heh.
