I'm not very much familiar with Turkish, but I'm gathering Turkic material
for my aposteriori project Kuman Tyli and I found no articles in any Turkic
lang at least according to descriptions given by Russian (Soviet) linguists.
It is certainly true that _bir_ seems to mutate into an indefinite article
in Turkish and some other Turkic langs, but for now it clearly is NOT it.
