Well, I've noticed that for most people in natlangs at least, they
appreciate scripts more than they do a language. For instance, I've heard
people actually say: "Chinese (Cantonese) is grating in how it sounds, but
the writing is utterly beautiful!". I think it is easier to appreciate
things by their appearance, than by how they work, for most people.
