OT: stupidity and ego boosts

i wouldn't say stupid overall(i do realize it takes some smarts to
get into a school as good as the university of rochester)... but yeah
i can be pretty idiotic about things sometimes... i freely admit that
there are many many many (did i mention many?) things that i don't
understand(both on and off-list)... but that's why i'm here.. to
learn what i can and hopefully use it to improve my pathetic excuse
for a language... and no, i don't get ego boosts by feeling superior
because i understand something that someone else doesn't... i get ego
boosts when the calculus ta randomly points to the fancy script i
used to label my homework 'chapter 9' and says "i love those!"
(referring to the numerous other fancy scripts i've drawn on my
homework over the course of the semester)... or when the song i wrote
when i had a bad day makes my sister feel better when she was having
a bad day...
... it should also be noted that everything i say should be taken
with about ten thousand pounds of salt since i'm prone to
exaggeration, fictionalization, and outright craziness...
