Q: Are there universals between the various social-class accents, across languages? I remember that when I was learning Arabic, "hick" Arabic sounded very similar to hick American - e.g. the drawl, short "hello" phrases, etc. How crosslinguistic is this, and does it apply to other social-class accents/dialects too? - Sai
