Slip of the keyboard? I'm sure you meant _rounded_. From very early days in
linguistic coursework, I recall discussion of a German dialect with 4 levels
of phonemic front V (i e E æ, like Engl.), with a rounded/umlauted version
of each. (There were of course 4 corresponding back rounded vowels too).
