So it does :)
On first read through, just a few points:
1. Solresol does not use eight steps from c to c'. The Mercurian
language of the 1950s Eagle comic did, but Solresol uses only _seven_
steps from c to b'.
2. I don't think there is a border as such between engelangs and
artlangs. I think it is more useful to think in terms of the 'Gnoli
Triangle' or 'Conlang Triangle' as I have called on my conlang page:
http://www.carolandray/Glosso/Glossopoeia.html
(Actually, I will probably be changing that to a diamond or lozenge
sometime to take account of 'cultic langs' like Balaibalan & Damin).
3. The discussion of pitch, rhythm, dynamics & timbre is interesting and
obviously all are important if the language is being designed so that it
is played on musical instruments. But the music-conlangs I had in mind,
and those I mention in my original mail, were all designed primarily for
_humans_ to speak/sing. (They could, of course, be played on any
instrument, but that was secondary). So is timbre actually relevant to
music-langs usable by the human voice?
Interesting stuff, however. I look forward to seeing how it develops :)
