We think it's four lines, Diane... it started out that way. Irina's idea was that she'd give a four-line poem in Valdyan to me privately, which I passed along to Steg Belsky, who passed his version (I think still four lines) to Patrick Dunn, who passed it along to somebody else... all told, eighteen people. Andrew has it now (Andrew have you passed it along to Carlos yet?), Carlos will pass it along to Josh Shinavier, Josh to Fabian, and Fabian back to Irina, who will translate his version into Valdyan. Then we compare her original Valdyan with the latest Valdyan (all neatly translated, as well, into English--with grammatical explications) and see what happened to it, and everyone posts their versions. You wouldn't get Irina's original, but Fabian's translation of Josh's translation of Carlos' etc.etc. etc. We don't know if it's still four lines! For all anyone knows, it's ballooned into a saga! The point was that nobody saw anything except the previous translation. It's like conlang telephone! Want to give it a spin? Sally http://www.frontiernet.net/~scaves/teonaht.html
