At first I read that as "In Chinese, it's /nE:Z/" and thought "wow,
doesn't that violate Mandarin phonotactics?" and then "does he mean
|xue3|, perhaps, the Chinese word for 'snow'?", before I finally
parsed it as two syllables in Pinyin.
