Re. the server question:
I've talked to DreamHost, and they say that they can provide us (once we
have our IRS tax exemption determination letter) with: 500 GB + 2GB/wk disk
space and 10 TB + 40GB/wk bandwidth per month total, spread over essentially
as many subdomains of conlang.org (e.g.
conlangernamehere.conlang.org) as we want, free.
On the flip side, I know that DH is heavily oversold, they didn't say what
limits we'd have on CPU or memory usage, and we wouldn't have root. And we
wouldn't be able to host anything that isn't something.conlang.org (though
other domains could point to that).
We haven't made any decisions about this nor looked at enough other
options... but as I said, it's a possibility.
I would like to have us be able to provide (as a membership benefit)
almost-unlimited and permanent webhosting / email with a
yourname@conlang.org / yourname.conlang.org account. TBD if we'll be able
to.
And TBD, also, if y'all will want it - all we can do is offer.
