My dialect lacks the /d/ in "and", except before a vowel, and not even
always in that situation (which is probably why I have a tendency
sometimes to write "and" when I mean to write the article "an"). For
that matter, the same principle applies to all -nd words. So, I
normally say /l&n/ for "land", but /l&ndiN/ for "landing".
