Not at all, it was pretty accurate! A nice comparison I think. It also helps me
realise why IPA is so difficult to learn: like inflecting languages, you have
to learn many forms before being competent in it. But another comparison
between inflecting and agglutinating languages holds too: words in inflecting
languages tend to be shorter than in agglutinating languages (only words, I'm
not talking about utterances or sentences). And indeed, IPA tends to be shorter
than any other transcription scheme.
Anyway, I'm gonna go back to my "semi-agglutinative" transcription scheme (may
be called CFA-IPA, i.e. Conlang-Friendly ASCII-IPA, but also Conlang-Friendly
Agglutinative IPA :)))) ).
