I don't think it was me. I don't recall debating that issue. :-) And
if I did debate it, it seems my position's changed since then, since I'd
pretty much agree with you. From what I can tell, kare/kanojo does seem
to be an "imported" gender distinction (and "ano hito" seems to be more
common anyways)
