In fact something like that happened with the rec.games.frp.advocacy
newsgroup; I said once that is would be great to all get together,
and someone went and organized it! Only ten people could make it, but
they were about half the r.g.f.a. regulars, and we had some great
games together.

There was a lot of hassle, because someone wanted it in an apartment
complex so he could sell us timeshares, someone else wanted it to be
just a two-hour party during a convention, people wanted it in a
hotel because "nobody wants to sleep on the floor", but finally we
used a school that someone worked at, in a small town in the middle
of Canada, and all slept on the floor except the lucky ones who got
the gym mattress. (Well, in fact I got the rickety bed in the nurse's
room because I grabbed it first, but the floor would probably have
been more comfortable)
