Some of the more widely followed schemes can be found here: <http://www.cs.brown.edu/~dpb/ascii-ipa.html>

This sounds somewhat like distributives: e.g. Greek _sunduo_ "two by two" _kata pente_ "five by five". Many conlangs have an analogous construction. Phaleran accomplishes this, according to dialect, either by reduplication (_nû_ "two", _nunu_ "two by two") or by a form homophonous with adverbials (_teo_ "four", _tyuþi_ "four times; four by four"). ========================================================================= Thomas Wier Dept. of Linguistics "Nihil magis praestandum est quam ne pecorum ritu University of Chicago sequamur antecedentium gregem, pergentes non qua 1010 E. 59th Street eundum est, sed qua itur." -- Seneca Chicago, IL 60637
