As I already explained, the use of "tu" for God instead of "vous" more or less coincides with a change in the view French people have of God himself, from a terrible unforgiving punishing figure (like French Catholics were used to learning about) to a fatherly all-love all-forgiveness figure. "God is your best friend" is the current motto. And you're not going to say "vous" to your best friend. Christophe. Take your life as a movie: do not let anybody else play the leading role.
