Yes, but that's not the point. One of the first things I was taught after
entering the Eastern Europe Institute: don't pronounce Russian geographical or
personal names too correctly, because in most cases it will be considered
pedantry and gives our discipline a bad reputation. I must say I generally
agree with this guideline.
The best pronunciation would thus be a compromise. Real mistakes, like the
accent on the wrong syllable, are evidently not allowed.
