Re: "Hij" with graves: why?

Hi all!

I'm now reading "Raket naar de maan", the Dutch version of "Objectif lune".

On page 2, I read (look at http://users.belgacom.net/bn130627/hijgrave.jpg):
"Wie bewijst dat hìj̀ dat vestuurd heeft", i.e. "What proves to us that it
is him which sent it".

What surprises me is the use of the grave to emphasize the "hij". Isn't it
the acute which is usually used to this end?

If both the acute and the grave are used, which one is used when and why?
