The Conlang Ethnologue! & Afar

One or two months ago I remember I have seen the
Ethnologue with (I think) 56 entries. But your version
with 43 entries is the same as the one I keep on my
harddisk.

The first entry on the list, Afar, makes me quite
curious. Googling didn't give any result, nor did a
search in the Conlang list archives, although I
remember there has been a thread once about an unknown
African language of Romance origin. Well, I guess that
should be Afar, then.
Does anyone know something about this language?
