I've read a book a long time ago, about pushing children to be
supergeniuses from birth. One thing it mentioned was teaching them to
read before they could talk. Assuming IRC and they weren't deluding
themselves, it sounded like babies sometimes did pick up a written
language independent of any spoken one.
