Interesting! I ended up with something varying between 5/4 and 7/4; and while there is a beat, it's not really tied to strict meter. It all happens within a standard diatonic octave and seems to favour dotted rhythms. I read the glyphs somewhat as you might read medieval music or Gregorian chant, which seems to be a lot of dots and squiggles that depict melodic motion. Therefore, the c curls and uprights show a general direction for the melody to take; with the actual notes taken from starting and ending points, and anything that looks likely in between!

Grace notes? I took the medium slightly curved uprights to be grace notes. The curves implied moving groups of faster notes.

I used D, but also ended up with a long note there!
