Barring indications to the contrary, as Span. or Ital [a], a bit less open
than US [A]. Christophe's "laxa(tive)" [l&ks@-] could be a spelling
pronunciation in the US, but I think 99% of us would reanalyze it as
"lotsa..." ['lAts@]
