Oooops.  No, just sheer barbarism on my part.  I suspect that the other
"Herotodu[ou]s"-writers are also North Ams who say [hEr\"a4@4@s] ~
[hEr"O4@4@s], like me, and thus are vague about whether the "d" or the
"t" comes first.
