Conlang as a divider from others

The comments about the people of Micronesia whose lingo supposedly is
unrelated to any others in the area, makes me thing that in some ways a
Conlang can be a WALL to communication, or atleast between groups. It
can be like some professions that have highly technically words so that
ever if they are speaking English, you can't understand the whole
converations due to all the additional words, like medical doctors have.
I wonder if a small group could not invent a Conlang, use it as a lingo
of thier group/commune/sect/etc so that amongst themselves they can
communicate, but the outside can't. Like the Amish and like groups go
with old High German and like lingos..
