::ears prick up at this:: I improvise music a lot, compose some * .
I play percussion (mostly small metallic instruments and objects), toy
piano and various noisemakers (like circuit-bent/re-wired battery operated
music/noise toys, hunter's calls, wind-up toys, mangled music boxes, and
invented instruments made from recycled musical instrument parts).
* imagine a space alien Trickster-type [a la Walt Disney's Stitch sans
the Elvis Presley schtick] discovering Earth, music/noise-making devices, and
various texturally/timbrally rich musics (i.e. Asian, NeoMesoAmerican,
Brazilian, sci-fi and _film noir_ soundtracks)... imagine the Feral Kid from
the movie _Mad Max 2_/_Road Warrior_ goin' into music...
... just _some_ of the music I listen to: Erik Satie, Oliver Messiasen, Lalo
Schrifrin, Ennio Morricone, Harry Partch, Lou Harrison, Hugh Davies, Tom
Waits, Derrick Bailey, Han Bennick, John Cage, Satoh, Margaret Leng Tan, Tan
Dun, King Crimson, Sepultura, Ruins, Sigur Ros, Einsturzende Neubauten,
DeathAmbient...
::goes back to playin' his battered, charmingly off-key (semi-random
microtonality), sky-blue & off-white Schoenhut toy piano and his buzzing,
whirring "insectoid" mechanisms . . . throatsings a growling, multiphonic
didgeridoo-like bassline dronal figure::

"In the beginning was noise - raw sound, the seed sound, the One, _Nada
Brahma_, the Big Bang. And noise begat rhythm. And rhythm begat everything
else. And thus the Dance began. Rhythm and noise. There is terror in noise,
and in that terror there is also power." - adapted from writings by Mickey
