Not necessarily, my good man. See recent previous posts on how
Chinese can name themselves in English. Perhaps your friend stumbled
upon "twee" somewhere, and upon looking it up in her English-Chinese
dictionary, thought it meant "cute" as opposed to "affectedly cute to
the point of making others want to projectile vomit" (*never*
underestimate the power of "cute" in the Orient, particularly when
unmarried women are involved). Then again, perhaps she was naming
herself for a language in Ghana.
