Several years ago, I had a chat about conlanging with my Germanic
Studies prof. He said that at times he has created partial
languages in order to explore certain grammatical elements. I got
the idea that artlanging as we know it is not what he did. He
seemed neither one way nor the other about it, apart from the
clarity his exercises gave him.
