The only conlangers I know are those I learned to know in Internet
conlanging and world building fora. None of my real-life friends
show a particular interest in conlanging, and my brother outright
detests it. (My parents don't know; I ceased informing them on
my world building and related activities long ago because they
didn't approve of that kind of geekery.)
I also feel that at least here in Germany, there is rather little
community sense. A conlanger I know from this list recently moved
into the city where I live, but he turned down my attempts to meet
him in real life. (He didn't say "No thanks, I don't want to meet
you", but it was obvious to me from his reactions that he wasn't
interested.)
Greetings,
Jörg.
