Oh, that _is_ hideous. I've only been to Moscow once, but the horror of that
"monument"[1] is seared in my memory. The city would be a lot better without
it. Upon returning to St. Petersburg, I was relieved that the monument had
not been built there--at least I wouldn't have to see it every day.

[1] When I first saw it, I couldn't help but wonder, "What were they
thinking?" Did the artist deliberately try to make it as ugly as humanly
possible as some sort of statement about Peter I?
