Well, I don't _speak_ English in my normal Spanish-speaking environment, =
but I certainly hear everybody saying /tsoukei/. In general, I think =
this should be accepted as a standard contraction, even in writing. And =
I've caught myself many times wishing I could say and write
_'Tis my fault!_
without being taken as a pedant. I think "it is" could be replaced by =
"ts" before a vowel, and "tis" before a consonant.
