Ah, digest. That explains it.
When you reply to a message, your reply automatically includes a
pointer to the message you reply to. That way, everyone who receives
your message and already has the one you replied to sees them grouped
together as a "thread" or "conversation". That didn't happen in this
case since you didn't reply directly to the original message - you
either composed a new message or replied to the digest, and I don't
have the digest because I'm not subscribed in digest mode.
