 You don't need a passive! If you know any French, you'll remember that they
get round it by saying on l'appelle (one calls it, 'they' call it) or il
s'appelle (it calls itself). The passive just happens to be very common in
English. And lots of languages simply don't have a passive at all.

 My language has no passive sentences. I can't seem to translate it was called
into and active sentence...
