This is pretty much standard practice for everyone on this list. The only person who seems to read (and know) everything is John Cowan. I myself am just returning from a several-month hibernation, when I posted nothing to the list. Welcome!

We do go through occasional blizzards of nearly 100% off-topic material. The best strategy for surviving them is to hunker down and wait for the storm to pass.
