If you can't/don't want to commit any of your e-mail addresses
to a Yahoo!Group, how about creating a Yahoo! identity for
that purpose?  As far as I know, you can get yourself a Yahoo
address without supplying a previously existing one.  You
don't even need to configure a Mailbox for that new address --
just read and post directly on the web interface of the group.
It's what I do with all my Yahoo!Groups.
