Not only there. Bohuslän dialect has circumflex accent in some grave words where a medial consonant has been lost, or a final syllabic nasal has been swallowed by another preceding nasal, e.g. [^gA:n`] _garnen_, not to be confused with [^ga:n`] _galen_. I don't think speakers are (or rather were!) aware of this phenomenon, since they'ld say [\gA:n`=n] and [\ga:l=n] when speaking "clearly" ([\tyj:d@lit]. /BP 8^)> -- B.Philip Jonsson mailto:bpX@netg.se (delete X) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~__ A h-ammen ledin i phith! \ \ __ ____ ____ _____________ ____ __ __ __ / / \ \/___ \\__ \ /___ _____/\ \\__ \\ \ \ \\ \ / / / / / / / \ / /Melroch\ \_/ // / / // / / / / /___/ /_ / /\ \ / /Melarokko\_ // /__/ // /__/ / /_________//_/ \_\/ /Eowine __ / / \___/\_\\___/\_\ Gwaedhvenn Angeliniel\ \______/ /a/ /_h-adar Merthol naun ~~~~~~~~~Kuinondil~~~\________/~~\__/~~~Noolendur~~~~~~ || Lenda lenda pellalenda pellatellenda kuivie aiya! || "A coincidence, as we say in Middle-Earth" (JRR Tolkien)
