Re: OT: Spanish "me da feliz"

I asked mi amigo, Ricardo Rodriguez, a Texican from Edinburg, TX,
about this phrase "me da feliz".
He replied, "Me da feliz . . . it brings me joy, or more literally, it
gives me joy . . .  yup !
e.g.  I must say, it gives me joy to say I made the last payment on my
car today !
       Me da feliz decir que tu eres un amigo mio.

What do you call a sinking rowboat with four Mexicans rowing ??
Cuatro Sinko"

So, at least in some parts of Mexico and southwest USA, this idiom is
known and used. We have already had discussions about the differences
between Mexican and European Spanish.
